Cadbury Schweppes, London, U.K., has agreed to buy the Adams division of Pfizer, New York, NY, for $4.2 billion. The acquisition comprises the principal brands, including Halls, Trident, Dentyne/Dentyne ice and the Bubbas, together with other functional confectionary products, manufacturing facilities and international sales, distribution and support networks. The deal makes Cadbury Schweppes the world’s leading confectionary company.
